Description:

Ancient Egypt, Neolithic to Predynastic, Naqada I to II period, ca. 7000 to 3000 BCE. A collection of 11 knapped chert (flint) blades which may have functioned as tools and ritualistic items that could have been deposited in tombs or used during burial. Four resemble projectile points with a "hollow" or deeply notched base, known as a Fayum (Faiyum) point for the area they are often discovered. Size of longest: 2.75" L x 0.75" W (7 cm x 1.9 cm)
