Description:

Western Europe, France or Italy, ca. 17th century CE. An iron dagger comprised of a barrel shaped hilt with ribs running vertically to the guard. The knobbed guard projects outward from the sides of the handle, and above the guard is a series of wide notches at the edges and a decorative incised circle in the center. The blade extends from the notches and tapers to a point. Beautiful and ornately crafted, this short dagger is a handsome piece that was worn in a belt. Size: 8.875" L x 2.18" W (22.5 cm x 5.5 cm)
