Description:

New World, Spanish Colonial, Mexico, ca. 17th century CE. A fine copper pitcher with a circular base and thin walls that spread outwards to a rounded squat body and then inwards to form a sloped shoulder followed by a long neck with a pinched spout. A slender, tubular handle is applied with two rivets to the neck, gracefully arching downward and curling into a petite volute just before meeting the shoulder. Repairs from antiquity on the base and the rim add charm and character to this lovely pitcher. Imagine what lavish banquets this unique example once served! Size: 6.125" W x 7" H (15.6 cm x 17.8 cm)
