Near East, Persia, Islamic, ca. 18th century CE. A beautiful pair of Persian pottery dishes, each carefully hand-painted with abstract, linear, and geometric designs. Both vessels present wide, flared walls, a shallow basin, and a ring-form foot, all nicely complemented by the vibrant hues of their glaze. Size of larger: 13" Diameter x 4" H (33 cm x 10.2 cm)

Provenance: private Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA collection, inherited via grandfather, who collected before 1980

  • Condition: More petite dish has been professionally repaired with some light restoration and break line visible in areas. Both have chipping to rims and nicks and abrasions as shown. Otherwise, larger dish is intact with nice craquelure to glaze.
