Western Europe, ca. 18th century CE. A brass mortar with twin squared handles, its form comprised of a tall cylindrical body with a dramatically flared rim, and decorated with fine-line striations incised on the walls and incised concentric circles on the underside of the base. Mortars and pestles were standard tools of the medical trade during this time period. Size: 3.3" W x 2.85" H (8.4 cm x 7.2 cm)
