A charming etui case made from shagreen (stingray or shark skin) with silver fittings and a wood compartment that holds brass and ivory tools- this was probably a convenient travel set for an architect or cartographer. There are 6 brass drafting instruments and a ivory ruler / measuring tablet. Size of case: 3" L x 1.3" W x 6.75" H (7.6 cm x 3.3 cm x 17.1 cm); silver quality: 90.65%

  • Condition: Lid is completely loose. Missing several tools and the brass tools remaining may be missing some parts that thread to the ends. Silver fitting over interior wood compartment is completely loose, and wood underneath has remains of modern glue adhesive. Some stains to shagreen skin case, but otherwise in good condition.
