Description:

United States, WWII era, ca. 1940s CE. A presentation model of a brass Bazooka rocket, mounted on a black wooden base with a brass plaque reading: "Bazooka H.E.A.T. 2.36 Rocket Presented to H. Pierson Mapes by Ordnance Division Philco Corporation, Chas. H. Godschall, Manager." The Philco Corporation, widely known for manufacturing radios, televisions, and refrigerators, redirected its metal division during World War II to produce critical components for the U.S. war effort, including bazooka parts. Charles H. Godschall, who managed Philco's Metal Division from at least 1939 through the end of the war, was later promoted to New Works Manager in 1947. This piece was likely presented to H. Pierson Mapes (1907-1985), manager at the Hutchins Advertising Agency, which handled Philco's wartime advertising campaigns. Their collaboration produced promotional materials featuring the bazooka and slogans about Philco's industrial contribution to victory. Size: 21.75" L x 2.5" W (55.2 cm x 6.4 cm); 4" H (10.2 cm) on included custom stand.

Note: this is not a live or workable rocket or explosive.
