Description:

Western Europe, Italy, ca. 19th century CE. A forged-iron dagger of a double-edged design with an open-sided fuller along one edge. The T-shaped brass guard bears slightly curved quillons and a gently crested midsection. The handle is adorned with a narrow fitting carved from boar or cow bone, and the diamond-shaped brass pommel features an incised, stylized lion on one side as well as zigzagging striations on the verso. Size: 2.25" W x 13.375" H (5.7 cm x 34 cm); (blade): 7.8" L (19.8 cm)
