Description:

North America, United States, American Frontier, ca. first half of the 19th century CE. A hand-built pouch of a roughly circular form likely formed from buffalo hide with a broad front flap sewn across the upper periphery. The interior compartment is quite deep and would be able to hold any number of small trinkets or traveling accoutrements, and the thick carrying strap mitigated any troubles with transporting the container. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size (pouch): 9.6" W x 9.375" H (24.4 cm x 23.8 cm); (strap): 46" L (116.8 cm)
