North America, United States, West Virginia, Ceredo; New England; Maryland, Baltimore, ca. early to late 19th century CE. A collection of 4 different glass flasks that are embossed with pictorial images or text. The first is a dark amber olive mold blown half pint flask that features a cornucopia on one side and a fruit urn on the other side that represents America's prosperity. The next and largest is an aquamarine translucent flask with a leafy tree of life or summer tree on both sides. The slightly cloudy aquamarine glass is a sailor's flask with an anchor on one side. The last is a Ceredo Glass Works whiskey flask marketed toward the prospectors traveling to Pike's Peak Colorado during the Gold Rush and depicts a man with a walking stick and a bindle (a stick and knapsack) under the text "FOR PIKE'S PEAK."   • Condition: Small chip to the Pike's Peak rim, otherwise intact. Cornucopia flask is intact with pontil scar on base. Tree flask rim is repaired with piece reattached and visible break lines radiating from rim to middle of neck. Loss and chip to rim along break line. Pontil scar on base, and the base is slightly uneven we recommend using stand to prevent further damage. Anchor flask has stable fissures within the neck and rim, but otherwise intact. Interior is cloudy with surface residue.
