East Asia, Japan, Meiji period, ca. mid- to late 19th century CE. A beautiful porcelain bowl, meticulously hand-painted, incised, and gilt with 2 dragons, one on the interior and the other on the exterior, each with lengthy serpentine bodies that slither across an intricately patterned ground. The underside of the base is signed "Nakamura tsu" ("Made by Nakamura") in Japanese script. Size: 9.8" Diameter x 4.9" H (24.9 cm x 12.4 cm)
