Description:

Oceania, Micronesia, Palau Island, ca. 19th century CE. A gorgeous dark wood heirloom bowl, with deep wells, and ovoid shape, and two handles at the rim, each with a projecting triangular shape carved underneath it. Bowls like this one were used for food preparation, and indeed the interior of this vessel attests to its use. The rich color of the wood is enhanced by its patina from being held by many hands and the passage of time. Size: 13.25" L x 17.25" W x 6.05" H (33.7 cm x 43.8 cm x 15.4 cm)
