Description:

Mexico, Spanish Colonial period, early 19th century CE. This is a beautifully rendered head of the Virgin Mary with gentle facial features and expressive eyes. The carving has nice drapery folds on the veil and neck line and the piece has an excellent aged patina. This was probably displayed in a church. Size: 6" L x 7.5" W x 12" H (15.2 cm x 19 cm x 30.5 cm)
