A stunning and very finely hand made shell crown/lei composed of hundreds and hundreds of tiny white shells with stylized geometric and abstract leaf designs delineated in pink, purple, and taupe shells amidst the pearly white ground. Size: 26" diameter (66 cm) around exterior; thickness of shell strand .75" in diameter (1.9 cm); opening 7" W (17.8 cm); exterior 8" W (20.3 cm)

Provenance: private Hawaii, USA collection; ex-Tad Dale collection, Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, 1960 to 2000
