Central Asia, Tibet, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A large embroidered silk textile, of a shape that looks like it once hung over and around a doorway, with a gorgeous motif of a peacock flanked by massive white chrysanthemum-like flowers embroidered on its surface. Decorative glass "jewels" are sewn onto the peacock's tail feathers. Two other birds and a multitude of other flowers and floral motifs are on either side. Size: 65" W x 60" H (165.1 cm x 152.4 cm)
