Description:

Africa, Mali, Bamana or Dogon peoples, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. An iron sculpture of a standing man with shorter, bent legs, a triangular, very long torso, and a long and narrow head with a beard and tall headdress. One narrow arm is raised, with the hand curled so thumb and forefinger are touching, as if the figure was meant to be holding something. The other hand is down and wears an iron ring bracelet; the man also wears an iron loincloth (not very comfortable, but it matches…). Size: 5.5" W x 22.4" H (14 cm x 56.9 cm)
