Description:

Harold Jackson Alfred (Canadian First Nations, Kwakwaka'wakw, b. 1953). Copper Wall Plaques, ca. late 20th to 21st century CE. A copper dish and decorative wall hanging made by the contemporary artist Harold Alfred, signed on the base "H. Alfred" with a otter symbol. The front is hammered and engraved with formline motifs; the circular dish with an orca and the asymmetrical plaque with a bear and crescent moon. A suspension tab on the back makes these a superb display piece for a wall. Alfred is a renowned metal artist, and one of his plates was presented to Queen Elizabeth II in 2008, and is now part of the Royal Collection Trust. Size of bear plate: 11" L x 13" H (27.9 cm x 33 cm)
