East Asia, China, Republic period, ca 1875 to 1900. A large and very attractive pair of cloissone incensarios. Made of copper with exterior in colorful cloissone technique of melting multi-colored glass into individual sections outlined in brass wire. Each with a tripod base with rounded lowest section, tall cutout handles riveted to the sides of the vessel, top adorned with foo dogs - good luck and protection deities. Lidded section with vented areas to allow incense smoke to escape. A colorful and attractive pair! Size: 14" in diameter x 24" H (35.6 cm x 61 cm)
