Near East, Byzantine period, ca. 4th to 5th century CE; Western Europe, probably Italy, Neoclassical period, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A wonderful trio of glass portraits: a Neoclassical cameo of the Greek goddess of war Athena - or Roman Minerva, a Neoclassical intaglio of the Greek goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite - or Roman Venus, and a Roman stamped intaglio pendant of a noblewoman. The intaglio and cameo can each be easily set in a ring or a necklace and the pendant strung on string to make a fine trio of elegant wearable pieces of history! Size of largest (Aphrodite): 0.8" W x 0.9" H (2 cm x 2.3 cm)
