Western Europe, probably Italy, Neoclassical to Egyptian Revival period, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A fine trio of hand-carved stone pieces: 2 tiger's eye intaglios and 1 scarab of banded agate. Octagonal in form, the larger intaglio presents shimmering natural hues of caramel and mocha and is sculpted with the Classical head of a bearded male facing left surrounded by an ovoid border and a stippled field. The more petite intaglio displays silvery gray tones and features an ovoid shape with the head of a beardless male facing right. Last, the scarab is minimalist in design but boasts lovely natural colors of banded almond, cream, and chocolate. The larger intaglio and the scarab are drilled laterally to be worn as beads or pendants. Size of largest: 1" L x 0.7" W (2.5 cm x 1.8 cm)
