Northwestern Africa, Mauritania, Neolithic Period, ca. 6500 to 3500 BCE. An ensemble of 20 hand-knapped stone arrowheads exhibiting crimson, russet, caramel, citrine, cream, and grey-black hues. Each arrowhead features a double-edged triangular body with a pointed tip and a stocky tang, with many bearing pointed fins near the lower corners. Arrowheads like these were invaluable tools to early hunting cultures who inhabited the lush, fertile Sahara Desert during Neolithic Subpluvial weather conditions. Size of largest: 2" L x 0.8" W (5.1 cm x 2 cm)
