North America or Europe, United States or France, ca. 20th century CE. A delightful silver sculpture of a horse shown as though about to leap with hind legs on the ground and front legs stretched out before him. The charming figure is rendered in an abstract manner reminiscent of the Impressionist sculptors Auguste Rodin and Edgar Degas, with a deeply pocketed surface and rough style. His long snout turns to his left displaying perky ears, incised eyes, delineated nostrils, and a short, nicely coiffured mane. A lengthy tail extends outwards from the animal's posterior. Size: 3.4" W x 3" H (8.6 cm x 7.6 cm); 3.9" H (9.9 cm) on included custom stand; silver quality: 96.3%.

Provenance: ex-private collection of actor Anthony Quinn and his wife Katherine, Bristol, Rhode Island, USA acquired prior to 2000
