Eastern Europe, Greece, 20th century. Marked EPT XEIPOE and 925 for sterling silver on the base. Purportedly acquired by Anthony Quinn during the filming of Zorba the Greek, a Greek sterling silver vessel of an elegant form with a piriform body and a corseted shoulder rising to a short neck that resolves in a thick, ring-shaped mouth with twin perforated suspension lugs on the shoulders. The walls of the body and shoulder are beautifully embellished with striated patterns. A lovely Greek sterling silver vessel from the collection of legendary actor Anthony Quinn, acquired when he was filming Zorba the Greek.
