(1) Emogene Lomakema (Hopi Pueblo, 1901-1999). Painted pottery bowl, 20th century. Signed on underside of base; (2) Unknown (Hopi Pueblo, 20th century). Polychrome pottery cup, 1937. Indecipherable signature with date on base. A fine pair of pottery bowls, each hand-signed by a Hopi artist - the larger by Emogene Lomakema and the more petite unknown - and adorned with meticulously painted black and red geometric designs. The abstract yet complex nature of their designs renders them mysterious yet aesthetically pleasing - lovely examples for any collection! Size of larger: 7.5" Diameter x 5" H (19 cm x 12.7 cm)
