Description:

North America, United States, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. This is a charming and beautiful electric lamp that incorporates the style of a kerosene or oil lamp font and a hand-painted porcelain stem with a winter scene! The lamp has a square wooden base that the milk-white porcelain cylinder rests upon - the image is a Swiss or alpine chalet covered in snow, surrounded by pine trees and distant mountains in soft green and brown hues. A brass stem supports the translucent glass font (bowl) that once held the fuel, a beautifully cut and polished piriform shape with crosshatched and ovoid designs on the shoulder and midsections. The brass collar supports a lamp shade harp where the chimney once was, and an updated brass bulb socket and turn-knob switch and a brass acorn style finial. The lamp is functional but may need some minor updates to the plug to ensure proper electrical standards. Size: 4.5" Diameter x 24" H (11.4 cm x 61 cm)

  • Condition: Normal surface wear to brass wash finish, but generally very good. Acorn finial knob is a newer addition. Glass and porcelain are intact. Please note: Light functions and works without any short-term issues, however the plug and wiring are older and may need to be updated. The plug is missing the covering plate that the prongs emerge from, and the inner wires are exposed in this area.
