Native American, United States or Canada, ca. 20th century CE. A hand carved figural piece depicting a Western man donning a wide-brimmed black hat (the brim made from hammered tin), black shoes, and painted yellow clothing pushing a red wheelbarrow that transports two wooden cubes (one yellow and one red) and a large yellow rectangular block. The hard working man's body is comprised of separate pieces for the limbs and torso/head. His visage is wonderfully delineated with lively carved and painted features, quite expressive! All is mounted upon a rectangular wooden plank. Size: 18" L x 11.75" H (45.7 cm x 29.8 cm)
