Description:

New World, Hawaiian Islands, ca. late 20th. A pretty bowl hand turned from lightweight avocado wood signed on the bottom "J Bader". It sits on a rounded base that rises upward to a wide mouth. The bowl is not perfectly circular, adding charm to its form. Shaping the thin walls demonstrates this artist's skill because thin wood is more prone to cracking during the process and this bowl is intact. The wood graining presents attractive warm honey hues, and the surface is so smooth - nearly silky in texture! Size: 6.1" W x 3" H (15.5 cm x 7.6 cm)

Provenance: private Newport Beach, California, USA Collection aquired in the mid-1990s directly from J Bader.
