Description:

Latin America, Taxco, Mexico, probably Los Castillo, ca. 1950s CE. "Toucan do anything if you set your mind to it!" A very large, hand wrought silver plated pouring vessel in the shape of an endearing toucan, its expressive visage atop an ovoid body on a short oval foot, with a long curved handle inlaid with gorgeous green stone bridging body to head that also forms the crest (further adorned with silver-plated nail-shaped ornaments), and lustrous, round dark glass beads for eyes surrounded by low relief concentric circles adding to its character. The tropical bird's open beak is wide open for serving luscious libations. An accompanying old tag identifies it as Los Castillo. Far more elegant than Heckle and Jeckle or Toucan Sam of Fruit Loops fame, but just as adorable! Size: 11" L x 4.375" W x 10.875" H (27.9 cm x 11.1 cm x 27.6 cm)
