Description:

**Originally Listed At $350**

North America, United States, probably Great Lakes region, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. Signed "WHG." A fascinating wooden walking stick, skillfully hand-carved with anthropomorphic, zoomorphic, and phytomorphic reliefs and inlaid with 2 dice made from ungulate bone and 2 glass rhinestones. The tubular cane flares out at the top to feature a star relief, followed by a thick band of copper above 2 strands of tied leather fixed with adhesive. A rubber cap envelops the bottom of the staff. The area between the dice is inscribed "WHG" and "96," and a relief of the Great Lakes region on the staff indicates that it was likely made in that area. Size: 1.3" Diameter x 35" H (3.3 cm x 88.9 cm)
