Latin America, Mexico, Oaxaca. Ca. early to mid 20th century CE. An endearing carved wooden angel with articulated arms and finely incised wings and drapery folds, upon a flat wooden base fitted with a long candle holder. The artist left most of the wood in its natural hue, but painted the hair and facial features black and highlighted the flesh and clothing with orange and pink hues. Size: 4.75" L x 4.75" W x 12.25" H (12.1 cm x 12.1 cm x 31.1 cm)
