Description:

Native American, United States, central and southern Plains, Plains Indians, ca. early 20th century CE. A lovely club of a lengthy form. The hand-carved wooden handle exhibits smooth surfaces as well as a pierced triangular pommel end with an original leather strap. The upper handle is wrapped with thick hide strips that arch upwards and secure a two-sided stone beater within. Attractive patina has formed across the wooden handle and makes this an attractive example of Plains Indians weaponry! Size: 18" L x 3.5" W (45.7 cm x 8.9 cm)
