Description:

Native American, southwestern United States, Santo Domingo Pueblo, ca. 20th century CE. A stunning cockle shell pendant, enveloped in a vibrant orange-red glaze and inlaid at its top with many square and rectangular pieces of brilliant turquoise. Glistening with a high burnish, the natural grooves of the shell form a lovely vertical pattern beneath the gorgeous glaze, as a horizontal band of alternating deep black jet stone and pearlescent white abalone shell cut into quadrilaterals separates the glazed and turquoise portions of the pendant. A pair of drill holes are featured at the top of the shell, for it to be strung on a necklace. A striking adornment, fit for everyday use or special events - and sure to garner admiration at either occasion! Lucite stand for photography purposes only. Size: 3.375" L x 3.25" W (8.6 cm x 8.3 cm)
