Description:

**Originally Listed At $300**

Western Europe, Spain, ca. late 20th century CE. A colorful and whimsical donkey bridle made from leather, embroidered textile, wool yarn, and braided straw. The thick braided straw creates a cupped muzzle that fits over the donkey's snout and flared eye blinders help guide the animal while on busy streets. The rest of the straps and cute horn with a straw tassel are merely aesthetical, with bright hand stitched threads and yarn tassels. Burro taxis are a popular tourist attraction in Mijas Pueblo, with colorful livery saddles or carts, they are an attractive and quaint form of transportation. The so-called taxi service arose in the mid-20th century, tourists would pose for photographs or pay the workers to take a quick ride on their charming work animals.
