Description:

North America, United States, ca. late 20th to 21st century CE. A lovely and wearable nickel-silver cuff bracelet with a Mokume-gane copper graining along the exterior of the band. Mokume-gane is a Japanese metal working technique developed in the 17th century, that creates a layered appearance by fusing different colored metals using intense heat and pressure to laminate them to a surface. The end product is a patterning that is similar to wood graining, which we see here! The interior of the cuff is stamped "JB" possibly for the American craftsman Jerry Blanchard. Size (bracelet): 2.75" Diameter x 0.75" W (7 cm x 1.9 cm); (gap opening): 1.3" W (3.3 cm)
