Western Mexico, 300 BCE to 1300 CE.Copal ranges in size from 1 3/8 to 2 1/4", this assorted assemblage of naturally occurring fossil tree sap, or 'Copal', was put on fire with its smoke rising to the sky as an offering to the ancient gods.
