Lot 230
**Originally Listed At $200**
North America, Africa, Asia, or Europe, ca. millions of years old. A stunning collection of crystals and minerals, including pyrite, vibrant neon yellow adamite, and a pair of halite clusters featuring semi-translucent cuboid crystals. Pyrite, often known as 'fool's gold' for its metallic luster and color, forms in cubic or octahedral shapes, adding a striking, golden touch to the collection. The neon yellow adamite, prized for its vivid hue and fluorescent properties, exhibits radiant crystal formations. It contains arsenic, making it toxic, so handling with care is advised. The larger halite cluster has naturally grown on a stick, displaying its remarkable cubic structure. In nature, plants or sticks in high-salinity environments, such as salt flats or evaporating salty bodies of water, can serve as surfaces for halite crystals to form and grow, creating the appearance of halite sprouting from the plant. Size of largest Halite crystal: 6" L x 2" W (15.2 cm x 5.1 cm)
Provenance: private Constance McCormick Fearing estate, Montecito, California, USA, acquired before 2004
