Description:

**Originally Listed At $300**

Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A captivating lot of three miniature Roman metal objects, each finely worked in leaded bronze and brass, and likely serving as personal amulets or decorative accessories. The first is a leaded bronze hand, naturalistically rendered with gently curled fingers and subtle anatomical details, perhaps once symbolizing protection, oath-taking, or divine invocation. The second is a brass key mounted on a leaded bronze ring, its large circular handle engraved with simple linear bands, the rectangular bit cut with twin perforations. Keys such as this often held symbolic weight in Roman society, representing authority, guardianship, and access to hidden or sacred spaces. The third object is a diminutive pendant in the form of a gladius sword, cast in leaded bronze and tapering to a fine point with a spherical pommel, evoking Rome's quintessential weapon of conquest and military prestige. Size of largest (key): 2.6" L x 1.3" W (6.6 cm x 3.3 cm)

Together, these miniature objects reflect both the intimate and symbolic worlds of Roman material culture, where personal adornment intersected with ritual and status. Their small scale suggests they may have been carried as charms, serving as potent reminders of power, protection, and identity.
