Description:

Rome, Imperial, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A fine ensemble of 4 carnelian intaglios displaying hues of crimson, apricot, peach, and cream. The first 2 are of ovoid form with one presenting a rich shade of red and a convex face, while the other boasts a creamy light pink coloring and a flat face. The red intaglio displays what appears to be a vegetal design with a triangle and the pink features possibly the image of a sword. The remaining 2 exhibit circular forms and are incised with lovely minimalistic motifs. Size of largest: 0.375" W x 0.5" H (1 cm x 1.3 cm)
