Description:

Roman, late Imperial period, ca. 4th to 5th century CE. An elegant redware amphora featuring a tubular neck, a flattened shoulder, a carinated shoulder edge, and a dramatically tapering lower body, all sitting upon a narrow, planar base. Twin handles gracefully arch upwards from the shoulder, ending at one-quarter way up the long neck, each displaying a central, raised crest. Note the dozens of horizontal grooves lining the exterior; a product from its wheel-thrown construction. Size: 6.25" Diameter x 12" H (15.9 cm x 30.5 cm)
