Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Java, Austronesian people, Neolithic period, ca. 8000 to 1000 BCE. A gathering of 5 ancient hand knapped stone adze blade heads made from a warm tan chalcedony. Each has a rectangular cross section, hand-pecked and knapped into petite blades with a flared cutting edge. The surfaces are all quite smooth and polished and pleasantly tactile. Size (largest adze): 2.8" L x 1.75" W (7.1 cm x 4.4 cm)

Provenance: private Friday Harbor, Washington, USA collection, acquired prior to 2000
