Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A lovely ensemble of 5 earrings, each formed from thick silver wire adorned with applied granulation or bands. All display an elegant arch with terminals gracefully bending inward or outward. Earrings like these would have been worn by noblewomen as a display of wealth and social status. Easily strung into modern necklaces, bracelets, or earrings for wearable pieces of ancient history! Size of largest: 1" W x 1.6" H (2.5 cm x 4.1 cm); silver quality: 95%; total weight: 58.7 grams
