Description:

North Africa, Dinosauria, Theropod, Spinosaurus aegyptiacus, Late Cretaceous, Albian to Cenomanian., ca. 112,000,000 - 93,000,000 BCE. A dramatic, saber-curved manus ungual from the iconic sail-backed predator Spinosaurus, its blade-like profile, deep longitudinal sulcus, and crisply undercut proximal articular face powerfully evoking the animal’s riverine hunting adaptations. Fossilized with warm ochre and café-au-lait hues exhibits natural mineralization and expert preparation that reveals the dorsal ridge and ventral keeling characteristic of theropod hand claws. The elongated curvature and robust base suggest a forelimb claw used for grasping or raking prey in aquatic settings. Size: 7" W x 2.5" H x 75" D (17.8 cm W x 6.3 cm H x 190.5 cm D)

Provenance: private Texas, USA Collection; ex-Leap Auctions, Texas, USA.
