Ancient Egypt, Neolithic to Predynastic, Naqada I to II period, ca. 7000 to 3000 BCE. A collection of 8 knapped chert (flint) blades with superb flaking, and some with serrated edges. At one time these may have had wood handles and could have functioned as tools and ritualistic items that could have been deposited in tombs or used during burial. Size of largest: 2.75" L x 1" W (7 cm x 2.5 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Obergunzberg, Germany collection; ex-Hermes Antik, Aldenhoven, Germany; ex-Hans Dengler collection, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany before 1998
