Native American, Southwestern United States, Cochiti, Acoma, Mata Ortiz, Hopi Pueblo, ca. 20th century CE. A collection of eight hand-painted Pueblo pottery pieces representing several important traditions. Included is a flat circular plaque decorated with the Palhik Mana face and signed on the verso by Hopi Tewa artist Alfonso Sakeva (b. 1952), along with a miniature redware olla signed by his mother, Beth Sakeva (1926-1994). Also present is an unsigned Cochiti bowl, a small whiteware pot signed faintly "Acoma JB Louis," and a Sikyatki Revival Hopi seed jar signed by Rosetta Huma (1919-1987). Completing the group are a small black-on-white bowl signed "M.T. Ortiz," a polychrome wedding vase signed "D.E. Acoma NM," and another Pueblo vase featuring stylized red and black-on-cream geometric motifs. Together, this ensemble offers a vibrant survey of Southwestern ceramic artistry across the Hopi, Acoma, and Cochiti traditions. Size of wedding vase: 3.5" L x 5" W (8.9 cm x 12.7 cm)
