Near East/Holy Land, Byzanine Empire, ca. 8th to 12th century CE. A striking blue glass bracelet, most impressive for its meticulously hand-painted decoration comprised of repeated fine line spirals, most remaining in white against the blue glass. The bracelet itself presents with some heft and a large scale. Adding to its beauty is its marvelous rainbow iridescence. Size of exterior: 3.3" D x 0.55" H (8.4 cm x 1.4 cm); interior diameter: 2.75" D (7 cm)

Provenance: East Coast collection, New York Gallery, New York City, New York, USA, acquired before 2010
