Description:

Latin America, Mexico, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A vintage paper mache Mexican bandito standing at attention with both hands gripping his large rifle, all in tawny natural hues. Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) is a Mexican celebration honoring friends and family who have passed away. Traditonal skeletal figurines representing all types are used to honor these ancestors. Here we have a wonderful depiction of a Mexican bandito representing the likes of Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata, wearing a wide brimmed sombrero and a crisscrossed bandolier bullet belt comprised of old but very sharp nails over his torso. A wonderful Day of the Dead skeleton depicting an iconic presence of the Mexican Revolution! Size: 4.5" W at widest x 13.875" H (11.4 cm x 35.2 cm)
