Native American, southwestern United States, Four Corners region, Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi), ca. 1075 to 1250 CE. A simple yet elegant black-on-white Anasazi pottery bowl created via the traditional coil and scrape technique. Finely painted on the interior white-slipped walls are nested chevrons with a striated ground and linear borders , making for an attractive presentation. A very impressive example of Anasazi artistry! Size: 10" W x 4.625" H (25.4 cm x 11.7 cm)

  • Condition: Repaired from roughly 13 large pieces, with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Minor nicks to rim, base, exterior, and basin, with light fading to pigmentation. Nice remains of pigment within basin and nice craquelure to pigment in scattered areas across exterior. Three old inventory labels beneath base.
