Native American, southwestern United States, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan) culture, ca. 1100 to 1250 CE. A hand-built black-on-white pottery bowl of a traditional rounded form and thin walls created via the coil-and-scrape technique. While the exterior walls are undecorated, the interior is extensively decorated with two dotted checkerboard panels alternating with two running diamond and striated panels, all surrounding a central nested square motif.   • Condition: Professionally repaired and restored from multiple pieces, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions and nicks to rim, exterior, basin, and base, with fading to original pigment. Nice remains of black-on-white motifs in basin.
