Ancient Central Asia, Bactria, ca. late 2nd to early 1st millennium BCE; Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A set of 4 ancient copper weapons including 3 of Luristani origin and 1 of Bactrian origin. The Bactrian axe features a tapering socket shaft lined with cord patterns as well as 2 vertical blades. The remaining Luristani axe heads are of solid construction, and each weapon has developed layers of naturally-occurring patina across the surfaces. Size of largest: 3.4" L x 0.75" W x 2.2" H (8.6 cm x 1.9 cm x 5.6 cm)
