Greece or the Holy Land, ca. 200 BCE to 100 CE. A small pottery oil lamp made from two molded pieces, a top and bottom, with a small concave foot and a design of a menorah and Greek letters. The letters read, "Holy Land oil lamps copied the Greek style during this period, becoming closed over and with molded, elaborate designs. These were made to appeal to a Jewish audience and have often been excavated from Jewish settlements and cemeteries. Size: 4.05" L x 2.6" W x 1.3" H (10.3 cm x 6.6 cm x 3.3 cm)
